POOL COPING INSTALLATION
Coping is the cap on the edge of a swimming pool or spa. It is mortared to the bond beam if it is a brick, stone, pre-cast, travertine, or paver material. Coping can also be installed by pouring concrete into forms around the pool called poured-in-place-coping. This covers the top of the bond beam, forming a frame or border around the pool. It also ideally creates a non-slip surface near the pool, as well as something for swimmers to grab onto. Once you have selected the right material for your new pool surface, and complimented it with just the right tile selection, you are ready to select your pool coping. WHY USE PAVERS FOR MY DRIVEWAY?
Installing driveway pavers for your home instantly adds safety, durability, aesthetic appeal and increases the value. Driveway pavers are much stronger than concrete and overall a better option. We work with only the top paving stone manufacturers in South Florida. The most important advantages about driveway pavers is the ease of maintenance. Many times customers need to dig under the driveway in order to replace broken utilities (sewer line, water line, electrical, gas…). With pavers, you can easily remove the area of concern and after you’re done, reinstall the pavers as if it never happened. There are no scars or marks, and the cost is fairly low.
HOW DO WE INSTALL DRIVEWAY PAVING STONES?
At MARTINS BRICK PAVERS, quality is always priority! Our paver installation goes above and beyond ICPI standards. It includes 4-6 inches of top quality Class 2 Road Base and we highly recommend geo-textile to maximize durability. We use only the highest quality materials and paving stones to ensure a long lasting paver driveway.
HOW DO I PREVENT WEEDS FROM GROWING BETWEEN THE PAVER JOINTS?
First, ensure that you completely filled up the joints with sand. Next, apply a sealant over the entire paved surface.
WILL THE COLOR OF THE BRICK PAVERS FADE OVERTIME?
Using iron oxide pigments, our brick paving stones only fade 2% in the first 2 years and 5% in the next 20 years. Our brick pavers are non-slip, non-skid wet or dry. The color is throughout each stone, so even after years of service, the colors will be consistently beautiful.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT PAVER TYPES THAT I CAN USE?
Among the most commonly used pavers are brick, concrete, rubber, and natural stones, such as sandstone, granite, slate, limestone, and travertine
HOW DOES PAVERS COST COMPARE TO CONCRETE OR ASPHALT?
Generally our interlocking brick paver projects are more expensive than plain concrete or asphalt. However, this WILL be the final South Florida area driveway, walkway or patio you will ever have to install. Concrete shifts, cracks, breaks and needs replacing sooner or later. Asphalt melts, and cracks or breaks in just a couple of years. You will be satisfied with the value of this project for many, many years to come.
WILL PAVERS IMPROVE THE VALUE OF MY HOME?
Generally it is assumed that whatever you spend on this type of project, you will recoup two-fold. MY PAVERS ARE STAINED, HOW DO I CLEAN THEM?
There are some excellent cleaning solutions that you can buy and apply yourself. Some products can effectively remove stubborn dust, grime, oil, rust, moss, algae, and skid marks.
HOW CAN THE AREA BE REPAIRED?
Paving stone repairs are simple. Just break out two bricks and remove as many or as few more stones as you need to repair water lines, electrical lines and then replace the stones and the repair is seamless vs. having to remove and replace the entire concrete area.
HOW DO I ENSURE THAT MY PAVED SURFACES WON’T MOVE OR SHIFT OVER TIME?
One effective way of keeping your pavers firmly in place is to install a good edging material (called “edge restraint”), such as concrete or metal.
WHAT SHOULD I DO IF ONE OR TWO INTERLOCKING PAVERS BROKE?
You simply have to remove the damaged pavers and then install new ones. It’s that easy.
HOW DO PAVERS COMPARE TO CONCRETE?
Stamped concrete and regular concrete cracks, breaks, heaves, shifts and is slippery when it’s damp or wet. The colors that concrete contractors use to color the stamped concrete fade very fast, and if the colored concrete is not sealed annually, it fades even faster.
